Treating Your Lowered Sex Drive

Are you experiencing a lower sex drive than you did twenty years ago? It must be because you're getting older, right? Well there might be some truth to that, but it's not necessarily the direct cause. In an interview for WebMD Magazine, Irwin Goldstein, Editor in Chief of The Journal of Sexual Medicine and Director of Sexual Medicine at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, said that age isn't as big of an issue as some might think. In fact, he said that older men have a "robust interest" in sex.
Lowered sex drive affects as many as 20% of all men, and 30% of women report that they have a higher sex drive than their partner. So what could be happening here to cause lowered sex drive, if it's not necessarily age? Here are several possible causes for your lower libido and some ways you might be able to reverse the condition:
It's in Your Head
By that, I mean depression, anxiety, or just chronic stress from everyday life. Over time, if lifestyle changes aren't made and these conditions go untreated, they could cause an individual to experience a lack of sexual desire or interest. Luckily, there are a number of different treatments available, including everything from medication and counseling to meditation, yoga, and more. Just remember that some medications might exacerbate a condition as well, so speak with your doctor beforehand about your issues.
You Have an Underlying Condition
Think of your body as one entity rather than a composition of many different body parts. If there is a problem in one area, it could affect the rest of the body, too. For example, a problem with the heart or high cholesterol could cause your lower libido. Low dopamine levels in the brain are also a major cause. Schedule an examination to determine if there is a problem elsewhere.
Low Testosterone Levels

Testosterone does dip when you age, but there are other causes for low T-levels as well (lifestyle, chronic conditions, etc.). If other underlying conditions are ruled out, it might be a good idea to try out supplementation. Testosterone therapy is expensive, and there are possible side effects to that course of treatment. A male enhancement supplement like Vydox is affordable and can provide results in a few months. You could experience a boost in libido and attitude, and just have more energy for a better time inside and outside of the bedroom.
